Description
How would you describe your design aesthetic?

My design aesthetic is clean, fun, and trendy. I love keeping things organized and polished while incorporating pops of color and fresh styles to stay relevant. Every element in my work has purpose and meaning, creating designs that are both intentional and impactful.

What objects inspire your aesthetic?

What inspires me is always changing. Currently, I’m inspired by collages, vintage drawings and textures, old magazines, layered compositions, and textured gradients. I love how these elements create a sense of nostalgia and are engaging in a unique way.

What was your earliest design memory?

My earliest design memories are concert shirts, posters, clothing tags, books, and cards. I always liked the cute graphics, typography, and the way designs could capture a mood or have a specific brand identity. I love collecting them since the details, colors, and layouts that made each piece unique.

How do you define “Interaction Design”?

To me, Interaction Design is about shaping the way users engage with the virtual world. It’s the connection between a person and a product, focusing on how users understand and interact with a design. It ensures that every interaction is intuitive, meaningful, and enhances the overall experience.

What are the differences between designing for say, a print product, and a digital product?

Color is a big difference between print and digital product, as print relies on CMYK while digital uses RGB. Scale is another major factor, as print designs are fixed, whereas digital designs must adapt to different screen sizes. Context also matters when designing.

When was the last time you saw digital design in the world that surprised you?

The last time I saw digital design that surprised me was when I came across digital marketing from Roade and Skims. I've been liking how they incorporate food into their marketing strategies. One of Skims' most recent designs featured their logo creatively shaped like butter.

What does “UX and UI” mean to you (if anything)?

UX and UI are new topics to me, but to me, they represent how the user interacts with a product, how they choose to engage with it and why. It's about creating an experience that is intuitive, user-friendly, and meaningful.

What are you most interested in learning in this class?

UX design is currently one of the most sought-after skills for graphic designers in today’s job market. I’m excited to learn these skills so I can position myself ahead in this area and to create more impactful and user-centered experiences.
